Discography

Klezmokum has recorded six CD’s:

“Klezmokum” (BVHaast, CD 9209)

Our first CD (1992) and still quite popular. With Michael Moore on clarinet, Larry Fishkind - tuba, Roberto Haliffi - drums, Burton Greene - piano

“Jew-azzic Park” (BVHaast, CD 9506)

(1995) We add vocalist Patricia Beysens to the group (She also plays flugelhorn and does our art work as well!) My old buddy from New York on Clarinetist Perry Robinson joined us, and Hans Mekel on clarinet and sax. Together with Larry Fishkind, Roberto Haliffi and myself (Burton Greene)

“ReJew-venation” (BV Haast CD 9809)

(1998) Personnel is the same as on Jew-azzic Park. This one is a tour de force of klezmer, Sephardic and balkan influences with contemporary jazz. We still get great reviews for this one!

“Le Dor Va Dor” (BV Haast 0700)

(2000) Modern interpretations, and compositions based on the works of Jewish composers who were active during World War II. Very poignant, with an immediacy for our times. Featured also is guest artist Sovali (Sofie van Lier), vocals.

“Calistrophy” (BV Haast CD 0802)

(2003) Klez-thetics, a smaller instrumental quartet version of Klezmokum and which features the fine work of Akos Laki on clarinet and tenor saxophone. With Larry Fishkind, Roberto Haliffi and Burton Greene.

“Ancient & Newer Roots” (BV Haast CD 1205)

(2006) The newest Klezmokum CD is a further development of modern arrangements of Jewish composers who have been active since the last world war until the present time. This is poignant, often little known music deserving of much greater hearing. Special guests featured on the CD with our usual Klezmokum musicians are the muti talented Marek Balata (Krakow, Poland) vocals, vocalist Sovali (Sofie van Lier--Amsterdam), Syl Röllig (Cologne, Germany), vocals, and once more our great, guest clarinetist, Perry Robinson (USA). The CD includes works by Mikhail Gelbart, Beyle Schaechter Gottesman, Matt Darriau, Bill Averbach, and a Chabad Liturgical song “Ata Hivdalta”.

Klez-Edge: “Ancestors, Mindreles, NaGila Monsters”(Tzadik Records TZ8127)

Our new group combines the best of traditional klezmer and other Jewish and Balkan musics with avant jazz improvisations, the classics, and with a strong dose of whacky humor as well! With Marek Balata, Perry Robinson, Larry Fishkind, Roberto Haliffi, and Burton Greene.

All the CD´s are available for 16 euros including mailing costs.
